Aranda visit

Last week the Finnish research ship Aranda made a short stop in Mariehamn on its way to the Gulf of Bothnia. Researchers from FMI (the Finnish Meteorological Intitute), SMHI (the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute) as well as TTU (Tallinn University of Technology) were onboard. We had the opportunity to visit the ship and talk about the ASPire and future research possibilities, as well as have a look at CTD-equipment, wave and current sensors, and see the control of underwater gliders. We also had a look at the laboratories, and of course a Finnish research ship has a sauna! Many thanks for inviting us!
